Photos by Francesca Albini. A personal note from Francesca:

Francesca's life changed one morning when she had a casual encounter with a Mountain Trogon (a relative of the Resplendent Quetzal) while she was hiking in a pine forest next to her home in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas. Since that moment she developed a huge passion for birds; this provided her with a link to the natural world, a connection she strongly felt in her heart and had always sought since she was a very small child. She now hopes to use her skills as a bird photographer and illustrator to provide an opportunity for other people to enjoy the variety and harmony of the avian world too. Birds are beautiful, elegant, sometimes endangered creatures that can teach us invaluable lessons about the world we all inhabit.
